Paul Johnson Joins London Office of National Geographic Digital Motion as Account Manager

LONDON (Nov. 26, 2007)—Paul Johnson has been appointed account manager at the London office of National Geographic Digital Motion, the digital film archive containing moving images from more than 40 years of award-winning National Geographic television and documentary film production. He joins recent London recruit Dan Pierce; together they will be responsible for Digital Motion’s advertising, entertainment and corporate accounts and for overseeing the overall expansion of its client base for footage in the U.K. and European marketplace.

Johnson, an accomplished sales leader, worked previously at Extreme Entertainment, where he was sales director responsible for the global sales of the company’s program catalogue. Prior to that, he was media sales coordinator and media archive manager at Infront Sports and Media, the company that manages the FIFA archive on a global basis.

Jocelyn Shearer, vice president of video licensing and archive management, said, “We are delighted to have Paul join the National Geographic Digital Motion sales team. His broad industry experience will be a vital asset as we accelerate the growth of our business throughout the U.K. and Europe. Expanding our London team will enable us to provide a higher level of service to our existing customers and answer the demand of our international clients looking for a comprehensive footage solution.”

Johnson added: “National Geographic is an amazing brand, with a wealth of wildlife, science and cultural footage. I am very excited for the opportunity to build the business in the U.K. and Europe and to work with such leading clients as Endemol, Darlow Smithson Productions and Orange.”
