Partnership Expands Digital Library with Innovative Medical Animations
NEW YORK (May 13, 2008)—National Geographic Digital Motion, the digital film archive containing moving images from more than 40 years of National Geographic Television and documentary film production, announced today a new partnership with ArchieMD Inc., a leading health and science education company that creates innovative products using state-of-the-art 3-D visual and interactive technology. Digital Motion will add a collection of ArchieMD’s health-related animations, which consist of human anatomy and physiology, diseases, health conditions, medical procedures and more. ArchieMD produces new content on a weekly basis, and National Geographic will regularly integrate new assets into the body of work available.
ArchieMD’s animations are authored by a team of physicians, instructional designers and education experts, providing the viewer with a comprehensive and creative learning experience. The animations are developed with the latest 3-D modeling and animation technology and are unmatched in their accuracy and level of detail. Through this comprehensive library, producers, advertisers, and physician and pharmaceutical marketers are only a click away from exploring everything from the human nervous system and lung models to examining major medical procedures.
“We continue to enhance the quality of our archive by preserving footage that educates and entertains,” said Jocelyn Shearer, vice president, video licensing and archive management, National Geographic Digital Motion. “Adding the revolutionary and engaging content that ArchieMD offers, we are able to continue expanding our comprehensive library, providing a variety of state-of-the-art content for our clients.”
